Unique Equine Supplement

DEVELOPS HIGH-QUALITY EQUINE SUPPLEMENTS

After years of working with veterinarians to bring rescued horses from the Horse in Distress Spain Foundation back to health, we have optimized our approach. Although using different vitamins and minerals initially produced results, it was always a challenge to find the right combination. We were using five different products, but this was not ideal.

With the knowledge and experience we have gained over the years at the horse sanctuary Los Caballos Luna, we made the decision to develop our own unique products.

This development is an important step in our mission to give horses of all ages and activity levels  as well as horses that need extra support the booster they deserve.

In addition to our first product, the UNIQUE B30 health booster, we are excited to announce that we are busy behind the scenes developing our second and third products. One will be specifically designed to help horses prone to colic quickly and effectively, the other will be a highly effective wound ointment that will amaze everyone and become a must have for every horse owner.

Our commitment to the welfare of these wonderful animals is paramount, and we believe these innovative solutions will be a valuable addition to existing treatments.

We can’t wait to share more details once we get closer to the launch of the new products. Keep following us!

our core values and

the story of UNIQUE

The story of Unique, a rescued horse, inspires us in everything we do. His immense willpower and perseverance are the core values we want to convey in our company and brand. Developed with care and attention, our products reflect the unique qualities that set us apart in the marketplace. We believe that every product tells a story, just like Unique, and that these stories connect our customers.

Together we make a difference, inspired by the power of this special horse.

The rescue

On Aug. 10, 2021, a rescue took place that no one will ever forget. A small horse lay in the scorching heat for three days, waiting for help. With a fever of 40 degrees, without food or drink and far too skinny, he had been left like old garbage. We pulled out all the stops to save his life; we cared for him 24 hours a day. Every three hours he had to be lifted, that’s how weak he was. It was a real struggle, but we didn’t give up. Day in and day out, week after week, we dedicated ourselves to his recovery. Eventually we named him Unique, a tribute to his resilience and our joint effort to make him healthy and happy again.

UNIQUE now

Unique is doing very well. After a difficult period he has regained his strength and health with proper care, nutrition, vitamins and minerals. Now he lives in freedom with his herd in our nature park at the horse sanctuary of Los Caballos Luna in Spain. His story is one of hope and recovery; he did not have to die to get to heaven, but was able to embrace his life again. The scars on his body are still visible, but they remind us of his past and the struggles he faced. Unique now stands confidently in life, a symbol of resilience and the power of loving care.

Horse in Distress Foundation Spain

provides shelter to horses in need

Horses are my passion and my life. From a young age, these beautiful animals have fascinated me immensely. By watching and listening to them very carefully, I came to understand them better and better and was able to help others. For years I trained people in the Netherlands to become one with their horse.

Then it was time for a change, Together with my daughter Luna I emigrated to Spain. We were going to organize wonderful equestrian vacations and enjoy the Spanish life.

It all turned out very differently when we came in contact with the enormous suffering of a group of severely neglected horses. A mare lay emaciated on the ground, surrounded by hungry foals. An empty look in her eyes. Total neglect. The mare was spent. She could do no more. Holding the mare’s head in my hands, I watched helplessly and with grief as the animal closed her eyes and died. Stand idly by and watch how this could happen was not an option for me.

From then on, I decided to do everything I could to take in horses living in deplorable conditions, care for them, give them a voice and revive their sad eyes. In June 2012, the Horse in Distress Foundation Spain was born.

The Horse in Distress Spain Foundation is proud to have its own horse shelter, Los Caballos Luna, located in beautiful Andalusia, Spain. This shelter is a safe haven for horses in serious distress.

In recent years, the foundation has rescued more than 3,000 horses from the most deplorable conditions. Of these horses, more than 150 are old, blind or traumatized, and they will stay with the foundation forever. In a vast 175-acre nature park, they live in herds, where they can enjoy their lives in complete freedom, away from the fear of humans.

Thanks to the foundation’s efforts, these wonderful animals are given the chance to recover and start a new life, trying to make up for the damage others have done to them.

EUROPE'S LARGEST HORSE SANCTUARY

los caballos luna

For many years we have worked at the Los Caballos Luna horse sanctuary in Spain to rehabilitate rescued horses. The horses often arrive lean, malnourished and severely deficient in a variety of essential nutrients to us.

For each individual horse, we customize feeding schedules with the necessary vitamins and minerals to get them back to health and vitality as quickly as possible. By carefully experimenting with different products, we have gained valuable knowledge and experience in improving the health and vitality of our horses.

We would like to share this knowledge, which is why Laura provides customized nutritional advice!
