Resistance

How do you support your horse's natural resistance?

A horse that is well-adjusted, has sufficient energy, and feels comfortable. Of course, we all want that. Yet a horse’s body sometimes has to handle quite a lot.

Think of changing temperatures, the transition to another season, intensive training, transport, or a period of stress. It can also be important for older horses to pay extra attention to their overall condition.

Good resistance starts at the base: proper nutrition, sufficient roughage, exercise, rest and a healthy living environment.

What can affect the resistance?

A horse's immune system is constantly active. Various conditions can place additional demands on the body:

  • Seasonal changes: Changes in temperature, daylight, and coat can be associated with a different energy requirement.
  • Stress and transport: Changes in the environment or routine can be stressful.
  • Intensive effort: Training and competitions require a good balance between load and recovery.
  • Getting older: In the case of older horses, nutrition, muscle condition and overall health deserve extra attention.
  • Recovery after illness: During this period, the body may need adapted nutrition and care.

This does not mean that a horse has a reduced resistance under these conditions.

How do you recognize that your horse needs extra attention?

Sometimes you notice that your horse is less energetic than usual, moves less enthusiastically, or seems to take longer to get back into its normal rhythm.

That can have several causes and does not necessarily have to have anything to do with resistance.

If your horse remains noticeably tired, has a fever, eats less, or exhibits other signs of illness, have a veterinarian assess the situation.

Supporting resistance begins with good care

Adequate and quality rough feed forms the basis. In addition, a balanced ration, clean drinking water, appropriate exercise and sufficient rest are important.

Vitamins and trace elements also play a role in the normal functioning of the immune system. Proper intake of, among other things, vitamins A, E, zinc, copper and selenium is particularly important.

Furthermore, adding more does not automatically make things better. The total amount of nutrients in the ration remains the determining factor.

When can Unique B30 provide support?

Unique B30 is developed as an additional nutritional support for horses that may temporarily need some extra attention in terms of resistance, energy and vitality.

The formula contains, among other things, vitamins A, C, E and various B vitamins, supplemented with amino acids and carefully selected trace elements such as zinc, copper and selenium.

These nutrients support, among other things, the normal functioning of the immune system and various processes involved in energy metabolism.

Unique B30 is not given daily, but as a short course of 5 to 10 days per month.

It can be used, for example, during seasonal changes, periods of increased workload, or when you need to temporarily provide your horse with additional nutritional support.

You don’t build good resistance in one day.

The health of your horse depends on many factors. Good nutrition, appropriate care, and attention to changes in behavior and condition remain the foundation.

Unique B30 can be an addition to this, but does not replace a balanced diet or veterinary treatment.
