Nutritional support for horses with IBD
In horses with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), the function of the intestines is disrupted by inflammatory processes. This can reduce the absorption of nutrients. Some horses lose weight, develop a dull coat or show a reduced condition.
A good feeding approach is therefore important. In addition to sufficient quality rough feed and an appropriate ration, the veterinarian can assess whether additional nutrients are desirable.
What role can Unique B30 play?
Unique B30 is an additional feed containing a combination of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients.
The formula includes, among other things:
- Amino acids, These include lysine, threonine, methionine compounds, leucine, isoleucine and valine. These are involved in the synthesis and maintenance of body proteins.
- B vitamins, which perform various functions within the normal energy metabolism.
- Vitamin E, vitamin C and selenium, Nutrients that play a role in protecting cells against oxidative processes.
- Zinc, copper, manganese and iron, Trace elements that contribute to various normal body functions.
Unique B30 is intended as a temporary supplement to the ration and is given as a 5–10-day course, with a maximum of 15 days per month.
Important: B30 does not treat IBD and does not replace veterinary treatment. Because the product contains dextrose, it is not necessarily suitable for horses that require a strictly sugar-free or sugar-free diet. Always consult with the treating veterinarian if you are giving a supplement to a horse with IBD before adding it.
